Byron Knows Best - Fitness Tip 1

Do you have too much acid in your body?

The Science Bit

The human body is complicated, with a sensitive internal balance between acid and alkaline. Unfortunately westerners tend to have more acidic internal systems, causing chaos inside their bodies. From undigestible chemicals in processed foods to drugs, pesticides, alcohol and even stress, Western living isn't kind on your insides!

Those of us with this imbalance have less available mental and physical energy, hold more fat in cells, age prematurely, suffer with low immune systems and are more susceptible to allergies, viruses or diseases such as cancer, just to name a few.

A body with a high acidic level makes efforts to regulate itself towards a more alkaline state. It does this by taking nutrients from your cells (causing premature ageing), teeth and bones.

Make the Change

Alkalising your body couldn't be easier and will drastically alter your health. You'll have hydrated skin, readily burn fats, and have less chance of allowing in viruses or disease.

Optimally, your body is designed to operate best at a ph level of 7.4.Interestingly, studies have shown that cancer cells actually stay dormant in these conditions!

How?

The most effective way to alkalise your body is to consume more alkaline foods. These are green vegetables like spinach and broccoli, nuts such as almonds and chestnuts and my number one tip - add lemon juice to drinking
water. It's not the secret to eternal youth, but its a good start!

Back/Joint Care

Strong muscles support your joints. If you don't have enough muscle, your joints take a pounding, especially your spine, hips, and knees, which must support your entire body weight. Weight training exercises help build muscle and keep your muscles and surrounding ligaments strong. That way, your joints don't have to do all the work.
